about

Contagious was a song we played live a few times but never recorded. There's not even a recording of it with the final lyrics that I know of. The working title before the lyrics were in place was "Li'l Bit O' Sean" since the original riff was written by Sean Mathes, the band's original bassist.

This recording is filled with random words as the vocal melody was being worked out but I've included the final lyrics of the song here, for posterity's sake.

lyrics

Let this ship go down again.
I can feel it sinking as we speak.
Throwing rocks will not help this time.
I'm fading from you, back into the fog.

I'm watching another firefly die.
But my hands are guilty too
There's no simple way out of this one, boy
There's no way to fix this, now.

This is not how things
were supposed to be.
Disconnect from me or
I will infect you.

But when judgement day comes soon
how will I know where to run?
Where will my shelter be waiting
I may just have to burn out under the sun.

Crazy how you're both so yellow
Nothing quite as easy as our childhoods led us to think
I've got the perfect tree to slip into
But the leaves, here, have yet to be seen.

This is not how things
were supposed to be.
Disconnect from me or
I will infect you.
I've just become contagious.

I'm watching another firefly die.
But my hands are guilty too
There's no simple way out of this one, boy
There's no way to fix this, now.

This is not how things
were supposed to be.
Disconnect from me or
I will infect you.
I've just become contagious.

Let this ship go down again.
I can feel it sinking as we speak.
Throwing rocks will not help this time.
I'm fading from you, back into the fog.

This is not how things
were supposed to be.
Disconnect from me or
I will infect you.

I've just become contagious.

===============

The music of Circuit Theory has been described as dark, inward looking, and rustic. With inspirations of love, hate, life, lies, anger and bliss combined with a very broad range of musical influences, a new sound is created with the idea of taking the listener somewhere a little out of the ordinary. ... more
